Syariah as one of the core tenets in Islam plays important roles in the daily life of Muslims. Syariah has provided ethico-moral and legal foundation for the development of Muslim civilization. However, this development requires the reinterpretation of the Syariah to be compatible with the needs of the Muslim society, within different contexts and cultures. Such contextualization is expected to provide solutions to the contemporary challenges. Some of these challenges include poverty, hunger, unethical business practices, unequal economic growth, socio-economic disparities, gender inequality, and religious extremism. It becomes crucial that Islam can play roles in dealing with those challenges, especially in the creation, service, and management of justice for the sake humanity. Moreover, the arrival of the 4.0 industrial revolution exacerbates the complexity of these challenges. However, such revolution also provides more opportunities to accelerate the service and management of justice. To respond to this challenges, Faculty of Law of Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta, Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya (UM) and Faculty of Syariah and Law, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), collaboratively organize an The 3rd International Conference on Law and Justice (ICLJ). This third ICLJ will focus on the theme of Managing Justice: Redesigning Law, Sharia and Business-Economy in the Recent Technology Development.
